About WholeMind
WholeMind exists for the people psychiatric care has struggled to reach, and for everyone still looking for a way in.
Reaching the Unreached
WholeMind was founded on April 8, 2026. Dr. Elizabeth Falade started it while searching for a way to give expression to everything she had been carrying in her heart for the mental health space.
She had spent years working in psychiatry in Enugu, Nigeria, and kept meeting people who needed care but could not get to it. Some lived too far from a psychiatric hospital. Some could not find a psychiatrist with the time to see them. Some could not afford treatment. Many stayed away because of the stigma that surrounds psychiatric hospitals. WholeMind was built to close that distance.
"I was searching for a way to give expression to everything in my heart for the mental health space. WholeMind is what came out of that search."
Dr. Elizabeth Falade, FounderWhat We're Building Toward
A sound mind for every African.
To promote mental health literacy and provide holistic support.
Three Things We Hold Together
Every division of WholeMind is built on the same three foundations, with none traded off against the others.
Every part of WholeMind is grounded in real psychiatric training and evidence-based care. It is never diluted and never oversimplified.
Built by and for people who understand what mental health looks like inside African families, communities, and circumstances.
Faith is part of how WholeMind understands healing, alongside clinical care.
Our Story So Far
WholeMind is young, and growing one division at a time.
Who's Behind WholeMind
Dr. Falade founded WholeMind after years of working in psychiatry in Enugu. She kept seeing people who needed care but could not get to it because of distance, cost, time, or stigma. She leads WholeMind's clinical direction and every division built under it.
Right now, WholeMind is carried by Dr. Falade and five trained WholeLine volunteers, who answer calls, texts, and WhatsApp messages with care and confidentiality. As WholeMind grows, we are building toward a fuller team, with more volunteers, clinicians, and eventually directors to lead each division.
Join the Team →The Next 5 to 10 Years
We expect WholeMind to reach far beyond Nigeria in the years ahead, into the African diaspora wherever they have settled. WholeMind will stay an African organisation, built on African understanding, even as it grows.
Structured training and certification for mental health responders, volunteers, and partner institutions.
Clinical research and community mental health data. Building African evidence for African care.
